History and features of the model

Logan began to be produced by the Romanian company Dacia, which was then bought by a French concern. Therefore, you can find both Renault Logan and Dacia in Ukraine. Technically, these are practically identical cars with similar characteristics, which differ mainly in nameplates. Since 2009, Russian-made cars under the Renault brand have been delivered to our country. Under the same brand, the model was also sold in Latin America and India, regardless of which factory it was assembled at.

The main goal of creating Renault Logan — a low price without compromising quality — has been achieved. In addition to Dacia's main production plant in Mioveni, Romania, Logan was assembled at Renault plants or the company's partners in Morocco, Brazil, Argentina, Turkey, Colombia, Iran, India and South Africa. The car was known under different brands: Nissan Aprio, Mahindra Verito, Renault L90, Lada Largus (station wagon), Nissan NP200 (pickup), Renault Symbol 3rd generation or Renault Taliant - depending on the positioning of the Renault brand.

The model was developed in record time, exclusively with the help of computer simulation. Before the release of the car into the world, not a single pre-production car was created for testing. At the same time, the designers worked a lot on optimizing the production of Logan, as much as possible unifying it with other models of the company and borrowing from them the front and rear suspension, transmission and steering. Engines were also used already tested and available as much as possible. During the manufacture of the body, panels and glass with the smallest curvature were used. Despite this, the Renault Logan car received a very modern exterior, which looks harmonious in the road flow.

The interior of the car, although modest, looks completely in the spirit of the time. The salon is spacious, especially a lot of headroom. Thanks to this, as well as high maintainability and economy, the car was very popular with taxi drivers. Used Renault Logan is still in great demand on the secondary market. Among other things, buyers are impressed by the car's high ground clearance of 155 mm, as well as a special package for Eastern Europe, which includes, for example, brake pipes laid in such a way as to prevent them from accidentally breaking off when driving on bad roads.

Currently, you can buy Renault Logan of the first, second and third generations, but exclusively on the secondary market, since the model is no longer officially supplied to Ukraine. These can be cars both in the body of a sedan and station wagon, with gasoline and diesel engines, atmospheric and equipped with turbocharging. The most popular is the car of the second generation, which favorably differs in terms of comfort from the spartan first generation.

In both the station wagon and the sedan, the basic equipment includes 4 airbags, ISOFIX mounts, multimedia with USB and Bluetooth with steering wheel control, air conditioning, cruise control and 4 electric windows. In the top version, a 7-inch touchscreen with satellite navigation, rear parking sensors and body-colored door handles are available. The trunk volume of the station wagon is 573 liters, and with the rear seats folded, it is 1518 liters.

What is the best way to buy a Renault Logan in Ukraine

Although you can find hundreds of offers for the sale of used Renault Logan on car classifieds sites, there are not always decent options among them. The reason for this is poor operating conditions in Ukraine, poor quality roads and lack of car maintenance culture.

In addition, real trouble for buyers can be people who unofficially earn money by reselling cars - the so-called overbuyers. Unlike large official firms, they often misinform buyers for profit and do not take responsibility for their actions.

The result of buying from dishonest sellers can be:

• the consequences of road accidents and hastily repaired expensive components and parts;

• twisted mileage on the odometer;

• problems with documents;

• presence of a car in the bases of the Ministry of Internal Affairs or credit organizations;

• crossed out numbers.

All this can lead to serious financial costs and lost time.

An alternative is to buy a used Renault Logan in Europe. The roads and operating conditions there are better, the cars have a transparent service history and often less mileage. However, buying a car independently in a foreign country is a very difficult event. New ones may be added to the above problems:

• ignorance of the language;

• pitfalls of local administration;

• problems with departure;

• queues at border points;

• difficulties in calculating customs payments, which may lead to fines;

• problems with car certification.

All this can lead to financial losses or prevent the purchase of a car.
